In the 12 months to 30 June 2026 across 100 sites around 1,029,638 people received food support‍ ‍(some of those are people who have received food support more than once) through approximately 257,409 food parcels. This is the equivalent of 12,355,653 meals and $40 million worth of food.

In the of June 2025 across 95 sites around 72,401 people received food support,through approximately 18,100 food parcels. This was the equivalent of 868,806 mealsand $2.1 millionworth of food.

In the 12 months 30 June 2025 across 95 sites, around 922,723 people received food support, through approximately 230,681 food parcels. This was the equivalent of 11,072,677 meals, and $36.1 million worth of food.

The Aotearoa Food Parcel Measure (AFPM) is a calculating tool to quantify the volume of food support that is being distributed primarily through food parcels within our communities. This distribution is calculated against the AFPM. It offers a consistent way for foodbanks and community food distributors to standardise their data, including by nutritionally adequate volume content. A food parcel should account for 4 people, 3 meals a day, for 4 days, and be compiled at between 50-80% of the NZnutritional guide.
